Course Description

The Construction Traineeship is a hands-on, full-time program where you learn real construction skills while working on a real project, not just in a classroom. It’s part of a Queensland Government–funded program and is designed to support people who want a fresh start, are new to the workforce, or are looking for a clear pathway into the construction industry.

The CPC10126 Certificate I in Construction gives you the chance to learn by doing, with support from experienced trainers and supervisors who understand that everyone starts somewhere. You’ll build practical skills, confidence, and good work habits while being paid to learn in a real work environment. Along the way, you’ll also develop important employability skills such as teamwork, communication, time management, and problem-solving — skills that employers value across the construction industry.

You’ll train on the job as part of a community construction project at the Woodfordia, 4514 project site, where you’ll gain practical, hands-on experience working with tools, materials, and construction equipment. You’ll learn how a work site operates day to day, what is expected of workers, and how to work safely and professionally.

By the end of the program, you’ll have real work experience to put on your resume, nationally recognised training, and a better understanding of the different job opportunities available in construction. Most importantly, you’ll be better prepared to move into ongoing employment, further training, or an apprenticeship in the construction industry.
