Course Description

You will be prepared to work in both community and residential settings, providing person-centred support to people living with disability or the effects of ageing. In this role, you’ll develop the knowledge and skills needed to deliver quality support.

Throughout your training, you’ll build empathy, compassion, and a strong commitment to advocating for others. You’ll also strengthen your teamwork skills, work alongside other professionals, and learn to follow established codes of conduct. By graduation, you’ll have a solid understanding of industry reporting standards, as well as the legal and ethical practices that guide the profession.

What are the Fees for Career Start?

Government Subsidised Applicants (One-off Co-contribution Fee): 
$35.00 - Concessional Students
$50.00 - Non-concessional Students

Placement Security Fee: $250.00 
Course Fees: $3,750.00
Total Fees: $4,000.00

Course Delivery

Face to Face Students 16 Weeks

Full time Monday to Thursday

  • 8:30am to 3:00pm
  • 120 hours of vocational placement

Current Support Workers (Online Students) 12 to 18 Months

  • New units open every 6 weeks coinciding with trainer workplace visits


Am I Eligible?

  • Must be at least 15 Years old
  • Basic Literacy, Language, Numeracy and Digital Skills
  • Able to obtain a Yellow NDIS Card, Blue Card and possible Police Check
  • Be willing to obtain necessary vaccinations
  • Current Queensland resident 
  • Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident
