Challenge Employment and Training

Challenge Employment and Training (CET) commenced operation in 1976 as Ipswich YUPI Program Inc. (a not-for-profit organisation committed to the development of unemployed and disadvantaged persons).

The change of name to Challenge Employment and Training occurred in 1998 with the expansion into regional centres and our need for a more generic name with no locality reference.

During the past 32 years, CET has been involved in a number of programs, all designed to provide skills, work experience or job seeking support to enable individuals to gain or maintain employment.

In total we have assisted some 42,000 persons of whom 55% have found employment and some 15% have returned to education/training.

We are governed by a Board of Management and have offices in Ipswich, Collingwood Park, Goodna, Toowoomba, Windsor, Mt Gravatt, Wide Bay and the Sunshine Coast.

One Stop Employment have had considerable success in the recent Job Services Australia Tender, winning contracts in 10 Employment Service Areas in Queensland. One Stop Employment comprises four not-for-profit organisations:

· Career Employment Australia Inc.

· Challenge Employment and Training

· Skill Centred Queensland Inc.

· Cairns Regional Community Development and ATSI Corporation

Employment Services Queensland has been selected to provide the full range of services in Capricornia, Bundaberg, Gympie, Sunshine Coast, Outer North Brisbane, South Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba and Western Downs. Specialist (Ex-Offender) services will be provided in Logan and South Brisbane. Additionally, ESQ will offer NEIS in 12 ESA’s.
