Antonio arrived at challenge lost and confused, looking to re-emerge into the workforce and find his place.

Antonio chose to complete our Government Funded* Certificate III in Logistics at Challenge Employment and Training with the help of our sister company Blueprint Employment and Training (RTO:31248).

Throughout this program students gain hands-on experience and understanding of picking, packing, dispatching and receiving goods as well as scanning and labeling goods while using inventory management systems.  Students also learn how to use warehousing equipment including manual trolleys, electric pallet jacks and barcode scanners in a simulated warehousing environment.

As a bonus for the students, they also receive their forklift licence, white card, first aid certificate and handling of dangerous goods to ensure they are 100% ready to enter the workforce. All of these skills are provided with the best intentions that students will be confident when leaving the program to gain employment in their chosen industry.

We asked Antonio why he decided to study at Challenge and why he chose this particular program, his answer was fairly simple – he was ready to take the challenge and be job ready.

Antonio explained that he cared for his ill Mother and when she passed away he found himself lost and unfocused on what he wanted to do.  When he had signed up with Challenge he decided that it was time to move forward and to do that a course/program would be the best way to do that.

“This course gave me the skills that I needed to up-skill, now I feel confident in myself and the abilities that I have learnt from Challenge! Next stop: EMPLOYMENT!”

We asked Antonio what is the most rewarding part of being in the program was and just between us – I think he was impressed. Antonio expressed the joy he has when he is on the Forklift and that he supported the whole program.

“I’ve learnt so much in the six weeks that I’ve been at Challenge – It’s been amazing!”

“The trainers have been fantastic! – Graeme is an inspiration – Peter also.”

“There is a lot of support, you’re not on your own.”

Staff have witnessed the growth in confidence and personality in Antonio over the last six weeks and we can’t wait to see where this program takes him!

Impressed? We know we are!
